Murmur8
A synth made from one wave.
Murmur8 plays a single cycle of a waveform. Reshape it with sliders or draw it by hand, and it drifts on its own if you let it. A flock of starlings follows the wave across the sky.
Experimental musical instruments and effects designed for weird and wild sounds. Available on web, iPad, and VST (coming soon).

An ambient canvas for stretched sound.
Drop sounds onto paper and drag the listener among them. Each pad can stretch, freeze, scatter into grains, loop like tape or play backwards.
An expressive synth with two layers.
An expressive eight-voice polysynth inspired by the rich, deep sound of its ancestors. Shape sounds from ethereal to brutal with six dials.
Synth voices that play themselves.
Up to six voices play themselves in a scale you choose, each grown from a seed you roll. Each is a creature of light in deep water: drag it across to let it wander, or down to make it strange.
A sequencer you build from bricks.
Build a pyramid of bricks that plays patterns on its own. Operator bricks transform the ones beneath them, and you can change it while it runs.
A looper that keeps adding layers.
Put one sound in the portal and tap to add layers, each one replaying the one before it, a little more broken up every time.
A sample mangler you play as a grid of tiles.
Cut a sample into tiles, then play the grid. Readers (moving playheads) walk the tiles and play what they touch, and moves like scatter, mirror and chop reshape the grid as you go.
An effect that remembers, and retells.
Play into it, then stop. Rumour keeps going on what it remembers, a little different each time.
A valley of echoes.
Two rivers carry sound down the valley through multi-tap delay lines that feed back into each other. Effects sit inside the loop or outside it.
Four effects feeding back into each other.
Four effects feed back into one another, and you never set them directly. Play a box and several paths open at once, to multiply, merge and modulate the sound.
Subswell’s engine, with every send in view.
A matrix mixer for four effects. Drag a cell up or down to set how much one feeds another, and sideways to modulate that send.
A wavetable synth made from real terrain.
Pick a place on the map and play the ground there. Each west to east row of terrain is one wave, and morph walks you from north to south.
A motorik rhythm engine.
Drums, bass and a sequence for Krautrock jams. Pick a scene, a key, your instruments and then just play.
More apps on the way... they keep getting weirder.
For the monome norns sound computer.
Turns any clip into a disintegration loop, after William Basinski.
